3 Day Pre Christmas Ride

3 days 2 nights.

Day 1

Re-live the movies and ride to Craig’s Hut, the set where The Man From Snowy River was filmed.

The day starts from King Saddle on Mt. Stirling, where you will be matched with your horse. We then make our way through the magnificent Woolybutt forest and gnarled snow gums taking in the spectacular 360 degree views from the summit of Mt. Stirling. As your horse picks his way along old cattle tracks, you head towards the famous Craig’s Hut. Along the way you have the opportunity to chat to Bruce about his time spent as one of the crack riders in the Man From Snowy River movies and he can point out the different locations used in the films. When you arrive at Craig’s Hut you will have time to take in the stunning views with the “Sleeping Indian”, Mt.Cobbler, in the background.

After lunch, we descend into the King Valley making our way along the King River through the towering White Gums and Ferny Creek Valley to our mustering hut. There you can enjoy a camp oven roast and relax around the campfire.
