Welcome to McCormacks Mountain Valley Trail Rides

The ride of a lifetime

Bruce and Deb McCormack have been in the Trail Riding Business for over 30 years and invite you to join them and their experienced staff on a ride of a lifetime through the Magnificent Victorian High Country, sharing with you their expert knowledge and experiences.

You will experience for yourself the breath-taking views from Mount Stirling and Craig’s Hut; Have a chat to Bruce about his time spent as one of the crack riders in the The Man from Snowy River movies.

Bruce can point out along the way different locations used in the films. You will roam through tree-ferned valleys, and beautiful river crossings, seeing some spectacular view along the way.

Get to hear about the life of a cattle mustering family as featured in Outback magazine. Also see where some of the scenes of the Australian Outback Spectacular Show were filmed starring our very own Cobie, Bruce and Jack McCormack.

You’ll also get the chance to camp at our mustering hut in Pannican Creek. Its hidden deep in the peaceful Valley. As the horses rest up after a big day, you’ll get to put your feet up and enjoy some nice food, a few drinks and good company around a burning campfire.

Rides vary in length our shorter two hour and half day rides operate all year round. Our full day to weekend rides and longer operate from Nov-end April and all rides can be tailored to suit your interest.

I went on the 2 day ride with four friends last week and loved every moment… so many highlights, riding through snow, reaching Craig’s Hut, riding through streams following narrow paths, eating the most amazing food in the most picturesque places I have ever been. We had really enjoyable time. I would highly recommend adding this to anyone’s bucket list! Although I still I don’t think we got to take it all in enough and will be going back to do another ride. It was worth the burning legs and aching muscles! Great horses, thanks Beau for lugging me around the mountains!

Thanks also to Bruce, Deb and team for such an amazing experience x

Hi there Deb and Cassie. Deb, again on behalf of Esther, Dusty, Kate and I we want to thank you again for a brilliant weekend with an absolute epic adventure. Can I also ask that you pass on a huge thank you to Em, Ash and Chris for their outstanding service and making the trip all the more memorable. You have a great crew. To you and Bruce, it was really nice to steal you from the group Saturday night and sit around the fire with a few drinks and have a yarn – you two are brilliant and it was so nice to have some time with legends of the High Country.

I need to say a big Thankyou to Bruce, Deb, Chris, Bonnie, Tag, Dave and the staff at home for a magnificent 4 days. I felt safe and cared for by all of you and appreciate the resilience and stamina of my trusty mount, Molly. She had a great deal of responsibility and handled herself admirably. Many thanks

Hi All, I want to say a big THANK YOU for the wonderful day I had with you riding to Craig’s Hut.

I enjoyed every minute and very much appreciated Barney looking after me. Lunch was yummy and just perfect for the day. You have obviously put a lot of thought and planning into how you do your rides and your friendliness made me feel part of the family.

Once again thank you for a great experience. I really hope to come back and do it again.

Chris

Again there were so many returning guests and lots of new ones. We love it when we have guest coming back and bringing their friends means we must be doing something right. And of course we still love showing off our part of the world to everyone that comes along.
