Craig's Hut - King Valley

2 days 1 night.

Day 1 - Craig's Hut

Re-live the movies and ride to Craig's hut, the set where The man from Snowy River was filmed.

The day starts from King saddle on Mt. Stirling itself, where you will be matched with your horse, then we make our way through the magnificent woolybutt forest and gnarled snow gums taking in the spectacular 360 degree views from the summit of Mt. Stirling, as your horse picks his way along old cattle tracks you head towards the famous Craig’s Hut, you have the chance to chat to Bruce about his time spent as one of the crack riders in the Man From Snowy River movies. He can point out along the way different locations used in the films. When you finally arrive at Craig’s hut you can take in the stunning views with the sleeping Indian in the background Mt.Cobbler. Enjoy a chance to look around the hut and get a photo on your horse with Craig’s hut in the background. Then head over where the support team have a scrumptious lunch waiting for you to enjoy. After lunch we descend into the king valley making our way along the king river through the towering white gums and ferny creek valley to our mustering hut, enjoy a camp oven roast then relax around the campfire.

Day 2 - King Valley

Begins with a hearty breakfast, then we make our way home following cattle tracks up through the tree ferned valley to the top of Mt. No 3 take in the beautiful views of the Delatite valley, from the Lookout before sitting down to lunch under the snow gums, once again mount our horses, and then make our way down Burnt hut spur through the woolly butt forest then to our base camp in the buttercup valley a beautiful place to finish our adventure.

Craig's Hut - Delatite River

2 days 1 night.

Day 1

Day 2

Begins with a hearty breakfast, then we make our way up through the ever-changing flora to King Saddle where you will enjoy lunch in amongst the towering woolybutt trees before we make our way on our trusty steeds following old cattle and logging trails making our way down into the head of the Delatite river, as we make our way along and through the many river crossing with the magnificent towering gums and fern trees, we ride out into the beautiful Mirrimbah park, once a logging town at the base of Mt. Buller.

Craig's Hut - Howqua River

2 days 1 night.

Day 1

Re-live the movies and ride to Craig's hut, the set where the man from Snowy River was filmed.

The day starts just below Craig's Hut,once you get there you can take in the stunning views with the sleeping Indian in the background Mt.Cobbler. Enjoy a chance to look around the hut and get a photo on your horse with Craig’s hut in the background. Then you mount back up and head downthe valley to the support team that will have a scrumptious lunch waiting for you to enjoy. After lucnh you will make you way though the valley to Flat spur to camp for the night.

Day 2

Wake up to the sounds of the bush and the smell of a hearty breakfast. We then saddle up and ride down through the forest of white gums, mountain ash and ferny creek valleys, taking a break at Ritchie's hut then once more follow the Howqua River with its many crossings, to be met along the way by our back up crew with another tasty lunch. Then making our way home towards Tunnel bend, along the way Bruce can point out where the famous river crossing scenes from the Man from Snowy River Movies were shot. Before ending your adventure in the Historical Howqua Valley

Craig's Hut – Buttercup

2 days 1 night.

Day 1 - Craig's Hut

Re-live the movies and ride to Craig's hut, the set where “The Man from Snowy River" was filmed, the day starts from telephone box junction, where we match you with your horse mount up taking in the beautiful views as your horse picks his way along the cattle tracks while everyone finds their balance and warms into the saddle and head off through the magnificent woolybutt forest climbing up through the gnarled snow gums to take in the magnificent panoramic 360 degree views from the summit of Mt. Stirling.
Ride on through the gnarled snow gums and beautiful scenery; you have the chance to chat to Bruce about his time spent as one of the crack riders in the Man from Snowy River movies. He can point out along the way different locations used the films. As you come out of the trees to ride over the short springy mountain turf in awe of the stunning views at the hut itself. Tie your horse to the rails and enjoy a tasty packsaddle lunch, (or be met by our backup crew with a scrumptious lunch) breathe in the clean air and the views that stretch on forever before mounting your horse and making our way back, just below the summit we will make our way back towards king saddle following ski trails and old logging and cattle tracks to TBJ where we will load the horses on the truck and make our way back to Buttercup where we set up camp for the night.

Day 2

Begins with a hearty breakfast, as we get re acquainted with our steeds we ride out through the forest along the ridges up to the lookout over pinnacle/Delatite valley then make our way down to the Delatite river, making our way to the beautiful Mirrimbah park to enjoy a BBQ lunch by the banks of the river , once a logging town at the base of Mt. Buller after lunch we make our way back along the river through the towering gums to Plain creek where we meander along the old tram tracks then follow the ridges back to Buttercup Valley.

Merrijig - Buttercup

Day 1

Departing from picturesque Merrijig property where the McCormack's have farmed for many generations, we ride up into the Buttercup Valley where you may well recognise the views from the Man from Snowy River films which were filmed in the area. Bruce can recount to you stories of the times had as he was one of the crack riders in both of the movies.

As we make our way through the peppermint gums and candle bark forest down to Buttercup Creek you may observe kangaroos resting in the shade or even spot a fellow deer. follow the ridges looking down into the Delatite Valley, and then make our way up to Bald Hill where we will be met with a scrumptious lunch then mount up, once again warming into the saddle you may like to pick the pace up a little and there are plenty of chances to trot and canter along as we make our way along the jeep track then head down into to our Base hut at Buttercup to spend the night.

Day 2
