Four Day Adventure (note all 4 day rides, not for beginner riders)
Note: depending on what tracks are open at the time will depend on what 4-day adventure ride we can do, both rides will see all main sights, the difference is: River Track, you ride back down the Howqua river, making you way through river crossing back to sheepyard flat and the other option is that you stay at Lovick’s hut 2 nights and get to ride out along the Bluff for amazing views. The ride will be names on schedule but may change depending on conditions.
Four Day Adventure – River Experience
4 days 3 nights.
Day 1
Meeting at Merrijig, we are transported to King Saddle on Mt. Stirling itself where you will be matched with your horse, then we make our way through the magnificent woolybutt forest and gnarled snow gums taking in the spectacular 360 degree views from the summit of Mt. Stirling, as your horse picks his way along old cattle tracks you head towards the famous Craig’s Hut, you have the chance to chat to Bruce about his time spent as one of the crack riders in the Man From Snowy River movies. He can point out along the way different locations used in the films. When you finally arrive at Craig’s Hut you can take in the stunning views with the sleeping Indian in the background Mt.Cobbler. Enjoy a chance to look around the hut and get a photo on your horse with Craig’s hut in the background.
You then make your way down the valley, taking in the awe-inspiring views of the mountains in the distance. Where you meet along the way by the support team to have a scrumptious lunch.
After lunch we relax into the saddle where we make our way down the Howqua Valley with its ever-changing vegetation to our camp site at Flats Spur on the Howqua River.
Day 2
After a hearty breakfast we make our way up the Bluff link Rd where we meet at the Bluff Hut for lunch. Take time to walk up to the lookout to see the magnificent views. After lunch we ride through the alpine flora heading across Mt Lovick as we head towards our camp for the night at Lovick’s Hut. Enjoy a hearty bush cooked meal.
Day 3
We experience the spectacular scenery as seen in “the man from Snowy River” films; we ride over King Billy, Mt. Magdala, and hells window. Mt Howitt all the while surrounded by breathtaking scenery of deep valleys below and the mountains stretching into the distance.
Feel as though you are on top of the world as you take in the breathtaking views and carpets of wildflowers, enjoy lunch on top of Mt. Howitt under the twisted snow gums, before we descend the infamous Howitt spur staircase into the Howqua valley, where our overnight camp is set on the banks of the Howqua river surrounded by towering white gums and mountain ash.
Day 4
Wake up to the sounds of the bush and the smell of a hearty breakfast. We then saddle up and ride down through the forest of white gums, mountain ash and ferny creek valleys, taking a break at Ritchie's hut then once more follow the Howqua River with its many crossings, to be met along the way by our back up crew with another tasty lunch. Then making our way home towards Tunnel bend, along the way Bruce can point out where the famous river crossing scenes from the Man from Snowy River Movies were shot. Before ended your adventure in the Historical Howqua Valley.

Four Day Adventure – Bluff Experience
4 days 3 nights.
Day 1
Meeting at Merrijig, we are transported to Flat Spur where you will be matched with your horse. You then make your way up the Bluff link Rd where we meet at the Bluff Hut for lunch. Take time to walk up to the lookout to see the magnificent views. After lunch we ride through the alpine flora heading across Mt Lovick as we head towards our camp for the next 2 nights at Lovick’s Hut.
Day 2
After a hearty breakfast, you will pack your lunch for a day of adventure as we make our way out across the Bluff taking in the awe-inspiring views of the mountains in the distance. This experience is one of a kind and the photos don’t do it justice. You will return to Lovicks Hut where dinner awaits you.
Day 3

We saddle up for our last day of the trip, making our way back up the Valley, stopping for lunch along the way. After our last lunch we head for home, but not before we stop off at the famous Craig’s Hut. If bruce is either riding or in the car don’t hesitate to ask him about his time spent as one of the crack riders in the Man From Snowy River movies. When you finally arrive at Craig’s Hut you can take in the stunning views with the sleeping Indian in the background Mt.Cobbler. Enjoy a chance to look around the hut and get a photo on your horse with Craig’s hut in the background. We then make our way through the magnificent woolybutt forest and gnarled snow gums back to below the hut where the horse riding part of the trip ends, you and the horses are trucked back to Merrijig where we say Farwell.

Four Day Getaway
4 days 3 nights.
Day 1
Meeting at Merrijig we are then transported by vehicle to Mirrimbah Park once a logging town at the base of Mt. Buller. Where you will be matched with your horse, we then make our way along the banks of the Delatite River and through the many river crossings with the magnificent towering gums and tree ferns. We meet for lunch at the top of the river Spur trail. After a scrumptious lunch we make our way through the gnarled snow gums to the summit of Mt. Stirling, enjoy the magnificent 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains. Then ride down through woolybutt forest and the ever changing flora to the Purcell's mustering hut, Razorback hut where we set up camp for the night relaxing around the campfire under the stars.
Day 2
Wake to the scents of our great Australian bush, Brekky cooking. Saddle our horses, then we make our way along old cattle tracks and take in the majestic alpine bush. As you head towards the famous Craig’s Hut chat to Bruce about his time spent as one of the crack riders in the Man from Snowy River movies. He can point out along the way different locations used the films. Finally arriving at Craig’s hut you can take in the stunning views with the sleeping Indian in the background Mt. Cobbler. Enjoy a chance to look around the hut and get a photo on your horse with Craig’s hut in the background. Then head over where the support team have a scrumptious lunch waiting for you to enjoy.
After lunch we descend into the king valley making our way along the king river through the towering white gums and ferny creek valley to our mustering hut, enjoy a camp oven roast then relax around the campfire.
Day 3
As we pack up our swags after another hearty breakfast, we saddle up and head off following the cattle tracks up through tree ferned valley, to the top of Mt. No 3 with its beautiful views of the Delatite Valley, here we will be met for lunch under the snow gums, then make our way down Burnt hut spur through the woolybutt forest to our base camp at buttercup.
Day 4
After a leisurely breakfast we saddle up our trusty steeds, and then make our way through the bush to the banks of the Delatite River, where we can have a relaxing lunch. Then make our way back home to Merrijig along the way taking in the views of Mt. Timbertop and the Delatite valley, as we traverse the ridges then make our way across Buttercup Creek.

New Years Eve 4 Day Ride
4 days 3 nights.

Day 4
After a late brunch we saddle up our trusty steeds, and then make our back home to Merrijig along the way taking in the views of Mt. Timbertop and the Delatite valley, as we traverse the ridges then make our way across Buttercup Creek back to Merrijig for a afternoon lunch by the Waterfall on the Delatite river. Enjoy a swim and relax before your journey home.

Easter 4 Day ride
4 days 3 nights.
Day 1
Departing from picturesque Merrijig property where the McCormack's have farmed for many generations, we ride up into the Buttercup Valley where you may well recognise the views from the Man from Snowy River films which were filmed in the area. Bruce can recount to you stories of the times had as he was one of the crack riders in both of the movies.
As we make our way through the peppermint gums and candle bark forest down to Buttercup Creek you may observe kangaroos resting in the shade or even spot a fellow deer. follow the ridges looking down into the Delatite Valley, and then make our way up to Bald Hill where we will be met with a scrumptious lunch then mount up, once again warming into the saddle you may like to pick the pace up a little and there are plenty of chances to trot and canter along as we make our way along the jeep track then head down into to our Base hut at Buttercup to spend the night.
Day 2
Begins with a hearty breakfast, as we get re acquainted with our steeds we ride out through the forest along Plain creek, to the Delatite river, making our way to the beautiful Mirrimbah park to enjoy a Picnic lunch by the banks of the river, once a logging town at the base of Mt. Buller after lunch make our way along and through the many river crossing with the magnificent towering gums and tree fern then we make our way up through the ever changing flora to the Purcell's mustering hut Razorback hut where we camp for the night relaxing around the campfire under the stars.
Day 3
Wake to the scents of our great Australian bush, Brekky cooking. After lunch we descend into the king valley making our way along the king river through the towering white gums and ferny creek valley to our mustering hut, enjoy a camp oven roast then relax around the campfire.
Day 4
Begins with a hearty breakfast, then we make our way home following cattle tracks up through the tree ferned valley to the top of Mt. No 3 take in the beautiful views of the Delatite valley, from the Lookout before sitting down to lunch under the snow gums, once again mount our horses, making our way down Burnt hut spur through the woolly butt forest then to our base camp in the buttercup valley a beautiful place to finish our adventure.
