WHAT TO BRING FOR OVERNIGHT AND SHORT RIDES

What to bring for OVERNIGHT/LONGER RIDES

Please pack everything in a secure and preferably waterproof bag as small as possible Thank you

Clothing

The main idea is to dress in layers;

  • Waterproof Coat (oilskin)
  • Pants suitable to ride in (moleskins, jodphurs, leggins and Jeans are ok (Can wear stockings under jeans to prevent rubbing) NO SHORTS ALLOWED
  • Heavy Sweater and/or Vest/ Warm Coat
  • Light Riding Gloves
  • Warm Gloves
  • Extra Set of clothing to change into (Jeans/ track pants, Shirts, Socks, Underwear etc.)

    Make sure you pack an extra set of clothes...

  • Bathers (if you’re up for a swim)
  • A hat or cap to wear when not riding

Footwear

 

  • Enclosed boots suitable to ride in preferably with a heel (Riding Boots, Work boots with heels are fine as they double as hiking boots – make sure they are waterproof)
  • WORKBOOTS with big toes are not suitable. 
  • Light Shoes, Sneakers, Hiking boots or waterproof Boots (for camp)

For Sleeping

  • Sleeping Bag and Pillow if you Hired at Empty Swag (includes mattress and sheet) 
  • Swag (if bringing own please roll up tight as possible) 
  • Or you can hire a Fully made swag (includes, canvas swag, mattress, sheet, doona and pillow. See booking for for hire costs. 
  • Warm clothes for sleeping (Thermals ect.)

Medications 

  • Personal Medications
  • We ride in remote areas where wasps and bull ants are known to be located. We strongly advise you to bring your own medication, Antihistamine (eg. Zyrtec, Demazin)
  • If you know you are allergic you will need to bring your epi-pen’s and let the us know
  • We also advise that you bring YOUR OWN Panadol, Nurofen or Pain Relief

Accessories

  • Camera with Extra Batteries (you will be taking LOTS of pictures – bring your camera charger too we have charging facilities)
  • Charger for phone if using as camera
  • Sunscreen and Insect Repellent
  • Personal Toiletries
  • Bath Towel
  • Torch & Extra Batteries

Drinks

  •  Alcohol (preferably in cans/plastic bottles. Avoid Glass, Wine Bottles are fine)
  • Soft Drink (again prefer in Cans) 
  • We will pack these in support cars in Esky at start of trip.

We provide you with:

  • Helmets (*Note Own Helmets can be used as long as they are in date of use within 5 years) 
  • We can supply Riding boots if needed. (please advise beforehand to make sure we have a size to suit you)
  • Saddle Bags for anything you want to take on the horse with you (eg. camera, sunscreen)
  • Riding Chaps (optional)
  • For hire – Oilskins (wet weather coat)
  • For hire – Made up swag
  • Ice filled eskys for your Drinks
  • Everything else needed for your trip (hot showers, tents, chairs, yummy food and friendly helpful staff)

What to bring on Smaller Rides – 2 Hour/Half Day/Day ride
